Facts to Ponder (thanks just me!)

16th January 2007 by Arrow Durfee Posted in Uncategorized

FACTS TO PONDER:

(A) The number of physicians in the U.S. is 700,000.
(B) Accidental deaths caused by Physicians per year are 120,000.
(C) Accidental deaths per physician is 0.171.
Statistics courtesy of U.S. Dept of Health Human Services.

Now think about this:

Guns:

(A) The number of gun owners in the U.S. is 80,000,000 (Yes, that’s 80 million)
(B) The number of accidental gun deaths per year, all age groups, is
1,500.
(C) The number of accidental deaths per gun owner is .000188.
Statistics courtesy of FBI

So, statistically, doctors are approximately 9,000 times more dangerous than
gun owners.

Remember, “Guns don’t kill people, doctors do.”

FACT: NOT EVERYONE HAS A GUN,
BUT ALMOST EVERYONE HAS AT LEAST ONE DOCTOR.

Please alert your friends to this alarming threat. We must ban doctors before
this gets completely out of hand!!!!!
Out of concern for the public at large, I withheld the statistics on lawyers
for fear the shock would cause people to panic and seek medical attention

Here are a few more facts to add to the 80,000,000 guns. Even with all these guns floating around still private citizens only manage to mistakenly kill innocent people 30 times a year, yet doctors kill 120,000 patients a year. Hmmm! However the kill rate for private citizens of “criminals” is a bit higher at 2000 to 3000 per year with the wounding of an additional 9000 to 17000.

At the same time the number of “mistaken” killings by police runs around 330 per year. Therefore we can conclude that we must disarm the police because they are far more dangerous then the average armed private citizen.

Just read where England has experienced a year of increased gun violence. Of course this was blamed on gang warfare and drug addiction. But then to make everyone feel better the “Home Office minister” reaffirmed that “We have some of the toughest firearm legislation in Europe.”
Maybe he should take note of this. A study a few years ago from Australia shows what amazing results the implementation tough anti-gun laws have accomplished. The right of individuals to be allowed to own guns is linked to an increase in crime and killing. A “new” survey proves it!

A while back their government decide that in order to protect all its good citizens from gun violence and to make a safer society, all individual gun ownership would be prohibited. Thus anyone who owned a gun was required by law to turn it into the government. It would cost the Australia $500,000,000 to rid their country of over 640,000 these vile interments of death. Still they launched the program and spent the money with the absolute knowledge and conviction that they would be making their country safer.

12 months into the program and following 25 years of a slow but steady decline in crime here are the “nationwide” results.

    [Homicide - up 3.2%!]
    [Assault - up 8.6%!]
    [ARMED robbery - up 44%!]

In some local areas homicides were up over 300%. Break-ins and assaults on the elderly also up!

Their politicians were absolutely speechless, they had ONLY the best intentions in mind and as such are totally unable to understand or much less comprehend what went wrong with such a brilliant and compassionately conceived plan.

New York and Chicago also have extremely restrictive guns laws and also experience high gun violence. Could we be seeing a pattern here?

Florida on the other had passed a concealed carry law a few years back and the critics cried that the state would be flowing in the blood of the innocent victims. Well guess what happened? The streets are not flowing in blood and all crime a general “decreased”. Can you imagine that?

How could this happen? You don’t suppose that the 250 pound rapist might have second thought about attacking a 120 pound victim when he doesn’t know if she is armed or not, and is afraid that she just might be able to damage this love-making ability forever?
